How to Disable Remove and Uninstall the U3 Launchpad
Just bought a 16GB SanDisk USB drive today and to my surprise it came with an extra software I don’t want (called the U3 Launchpad). Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the software might be useful for those who want data portability but I just want a plain USB drive nothing more nothing less.
I tried formatting the 16GB USB drive but that didn’t work. Apparently, I realized the system was kept in a separate partition in the drive which was pretty ingenious but was quite annoying because the straight forward format just couldn’t remove the software that automounts a virtual cd-drive loaded with the U3 Launchpad.

So off I went to the U3 site and finally found what I was looking for. An, uninstall utility for U3 launchpad. You’ll need to download the U3 Launchpad uninstaller run it, follow the instructions and presto, normal usb drive in a jiffy! You can jump to this link if you’d like more info (www.u3.com). Just a warning, the uninstall process completely wipes out all your files on the USB drive so make sure you have your files saved somewhere else. ^_^
