Hi,

I got all Acer driver CD when I bought the Acer 4730z laptop. The thing is, I installed all the types of WLAN drivers (Atheros, Broadband, Shirley & Ralink) hoping either of that would work. But I can not my wiFi to work :( What should I be installing to get my laptop search for the active hotspot?

Also, My Crystal eye webcam is problematic. When I click on the Crystal eye webcam application, it is not opening anything but when I click on the "USB Video Cam" under My computer it works fine.

Any idea? Thanks!

@fatboi

Its not actually needed as a driver but its an addon software to obtain some hardware details from your installed hd/cd/dvd drives.

As for the 2 intel graphics adapters installed its basically because of design. The Acer 4730z natively supports different modes of dual displays.

For your wifi not displaying networks, you may have set your wifi to be managed by the external software that came with the driver. If you want to use the MS wireless manager, you'll need to uninstall the software and driver and just install the wifi driver (minus the software). Hope this helps.

i noticed that you included "intel matrix storage" driver... i'm curious..what's the use of this driver? acer support did not provide this on their xp driver downloads for 4730z..

i installed xp on my new aspire4730z.. its working fine.. but on the device manager, i have 2 intel graphics adapter ins2talled, i also have 3 plug n play monitor.. how can i correct this? my wifi(ralink) is working but when i open available network connectios, it displays "no available network connections". i'm able to connect to my wifi router and internet though.

il be waiting for your reply. gud day!

@Caidence

Please check your hard disk, it may be defective. If you install the wrong driver it won't in anyway harm your hardware. I've already downgraded (upgraded) a lot of laptops to Windows XP and sometimes installing the drivers require trial and error specially if the laptop doesn't come with any manual. All worked fine so far and never had any problems.

Just to make sure, if you installed using the SATA slipstream method, make sure that your HD interface is set to SATA and not IDE in your bios. On another note if your laptop is brand new, please have that replaced ASAP.
